Watch out for more denim innovations at Lee Concept stores. Stay curious!
There is power that lies in curiosity. It is the force that drives artists to try new ways of creating art to discover their own style. People find exciting destinations by turning an unfamiliar corner. These are just some of the reasons why everyone chooses to Stay Curious.
It is this exact passion to explore new territories that denim brand Lee harnessed during the Lee Jeans Philippine Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2014 show where it showcased denim innovations to mark its 125th year of superb craftsmanship, once again pushing boundaries while staying true to its proud heritage.
The SM Mall of Asia Atrium was transformed to simulate the streets of New York and put the audience at the heart of the scene. The audience is left curious as the models walked the runway though unexpected synchronicity, turning corners, to give everyone a closer look of the collection’s detail.
Pieces that highlight denim engineering and elevate the structure of jeans were presented, together with colorful pieces inspired by digital technology. The collection also showcased Union Made Lee101+ which celebrates the brand’s signature denim pieces.
The Lee Stretch Deluxe was also unveiled, featuring jeans made of quality Italian fabric with an improved stretch ability and an enhanced shape recovery for an even leaner and flattering fit.
One of the many highlights of the show is the presentation of capsule collections from the Lee Style Army 2013. For the fourth installment of this design competition, the brand presents curious and talented students from all over the country.
This year's winning team is Team Futurama/I Am A Futurist, composed of (from right) Nazer Molina (UST), Van Oscar Tabaloc (UP-Cebu) and Paulina Raymundo (DLS-CSB) for fashion design and John Karunungan (SoFA) for styling. Student models brought life to the collections, with Lin Villacorta (UP-Diliman) and Arwin Villafuerte (DLSU) emerging as this year's winners.
Part of the celebration of its 125 year milestone, Lee also showcased a Denim Exhibit highlighting the works of brand influencers artist Leeroy New, Turbo Goth vocals Sarah Gaugler, muralist Deejae Pa'este, accessories designer Paul Jatayna, Fashion designer Jerome Lorico, ProFormula Racer and designer Mark Bumgarner, and sister IndyCar racer, Michele Bumgarner.
